Schola Cantorum concert in Cesky Krumlov
Next stop for the group from Fayetteville, Arkansas is the medieval town of Cesky Krumlov where the ensemble presents their second formal concert in St. Vitus Cathedral on May 23 at 7:30 pm.
The rehearsal (see photo below) for the highlight performance went really. Conductor Dr. Graeme Langager was very pleased with the accoustic of the venue and so were the singers. Their performance of Morten Lauridsen's "O Magnum Mysterium" was particularly moving. The concert will feature works from European and American composers such as Bach, Purcell, Welkees, Pärt, Bardos and Tavener plus American spirituals.
"The choir sounded very nice", Dr. Graeme Langager commented on Tuesday already after Schola Cantorum's first concert on their 2008 Performance Tour to Central Europe at St. Nicholas Church on the Old Town Square in Prague.
On Saturday, Schola Cantorum will continue their journey to Austria.
